What Janet has to say about her CD The Colors of the World

A song can have a wonderful melody, but if it doesn’t communicate something to me, I won’t be drawn to sing it. In other words, every song on the CD has lyrics I feel compelled to sing. The song The Colors of the World has terrific music, and the poetry about our natural world mirrors exactly how I feel about the beauty and gift of our planet earth.

I also felt strongly about including children on The Colors of the World. After all, it is they to whom we leave the planet. I was led to Gary Fry, conductor of the children’s choir Midwest Young Artists. I loved his arrangement from the moment I heard it. Gary is brilliant, down to earth and a pleasure to work with.

Unbridled Joy is a song I have explored deeply, inspired by my experiences as the parent of a special needs child. Heartfelt and uplifting, it is about transformation and love.

This mix of Jazz/Great American songbook classics have a recurring theme—good values, putting things in perspective and love of living!
